This week we will be focusing on the arts community of Toronto and the Grace Centre for the Arts.  **Please note the praise section especially.

Prayer for the City:

• Pray for the various arts events and festivals happening around the city this summer (Beaches Jazz Festival, various cultural, and food festivals) that these would be an opportunity for the city to connect over and enjoy the arts in the city.
• Pray for the Christian artists in this city that they might give glory to God through their work.  Pray that the Christian arts community might band together to sharpen, encourage and support one another to plough ahead in the art community, especially in light of a city that can often be hostile to the Gospel.
• Pray for the artists in the city that don’t have a relationship with the Lord, that they might come to know Him, that they might see their desire and impulse to create as a result of being created in the image of a creative God.

• Perspectives: a monthly meeting to equip Christians to better understand how to live out their faith in the  context of their art. Pray that this ministry would continue to flourish, that artists in our community would be better connected and supported. Pray for the seeker who has been coming to the meetings to draw closer to Christ through it.
• Mezzanine: yearly events that seek to showcase the arts community and provide outlets for spiritual conversation about the arts. Pray that this ministry would pick up with the November event. Pray for the scheduling and commitment of artists on this project and that the event would help to further the conversation we are trying to have about art and faith.
• Arts Creation Opportunities: as the team meets informally to better figure out how to get more artists involved in creating work for our Sunday services and for various side projects, pray for wisdom of the leadership team. Pray that the work that gets created is God-honouring, and excellent.

Praises!

• Praise God that the Grace Summer Games Soccer Scrimmage that happened on Saturday (17th) brought out many people from Grace, both newcomers and old-timers.  Praise God that it provided many new connections and building of relationships, all contributing to the overall growth of community at Grace.
• Praise God that Beth Williams has raised almost all the money she needs for her upcoming 3-month mission trip to Madagascar!  Praise Him for a successful time of her sharing with her friends, family and co-workers (both Christians and non-Christians) about the trip and the opportunity to give glory to God in her desire to serve there.
• Praise God for a successful launch of the Connection Centre and that it allowed a place for many newcomers to get more information about Grace and connect with others.  Pray that it would continue to provide for the future development and integration of community within Grace and be a blessing to the entire GTC community.
