Prayer for the City & Church: Nov 1-7
November 4th, 2010 by Stephanie
This week we are praying for the theme of Justice for our city and our church, as well as praying for one of our very own who is about to leave for a long-term mission opportunity in East Asia. **Please note the praise section for a very exciting answer to our prayers!!
Praying for Justice in the City
- Leadership of the city (Mayor, Governing Officials, Law Enforcement, Legal Professionals, etc.)—to act wisely and be good stewards of their positions. That they would be filled with the knowledge of God’s will for the city. Pray that they would be vessels of God to bring justice to the city.
- For the homeless and addicted—that they would receive attention from those who truly care for them and their well-being. That they would be released from their brokenness and addictions and would find shelter and freedom in Christ.
- For those who are being mistreated and abused by others (physically, emotionally, financially, etc) that their case would be brought before someone who would be able to help them escape the situation and even find a way to forgive their abuser.
Prayer for the Church
- Pray that Grace would become a place where justice and mercy are administrated to the city and to one another.
- Pray for continued growth and community as a church in our new location and that we would be a blessing to the city.
- Pray for S.W. as she leaves for Asia this Saturday. Pray for a safe flight, her final goodbyes this week and a quick adjustment to her new home. Pray that she would find camaraderie with her team and would have a heart for the people she is ministering to right away. Pray that we would continue to keep her in our prayers throughout her time there.
Praise Update!
- For those of you who have been praying for the missing teen that Toronto City Mission has been concerned about and trying to reach out to, the Lord has answered our prayers!! Last week, after many weeks of uncertainty as to his whereabouts and his safety, this young man showed up at the TCM youth drop-in program. He has been reconnected with one of his former leaders and is being watched over by the TCM staff. Please continue to pray for his safety, health, mental stability and spiritual needs. Pray that for Elliot, the TCM staff member who is particularly caring for him, that he would be equipped by the Holy Spirit to know how best to help this young man and that he would see fruit and growth in this man’s life.
