Prayer for the City & Church: Feb 7-13
February 7th, 2011 by Stephanie
Prayer for the city
- Pray for those facing loneliness and depression during the winter months – that they would sense God’s presence with them
- For those far from home, international students (especially those from warmer climates)
- For elderly who are stuck inside and may see family less often because of the cold
- For those who are addicted or alienated from family and loved ones
Prayer for the church
- Pray that we would see our calling (whether vocation, interest, service opportunities, etc) as a way to see the power of God manifested in the midst of our weaknesses
- Pray that we would become a church of greater ownership for caring for one another and for serving one another. Pray for an increase of volunteers, as there are still so many who are uninvolved – that they would be willing to step up and commit to serving the church and would experience joy through it.
- Pray for the men’s connection event this Saturday, Feb 12th, to be a time of great relationship building for the men and for overall progression of growth for the men’s ministry.
Prayer for those in our church
- Please continue to pray for Liz James and her father Bill’s recent diagnosis with a severe brain aneurysm. There is no recent update other than to pray for wisdom for the doctors to know whether to encourage surgery or not. Please pray for Bill’s heart to be open to the Gospel and that he would be filled with a desire for the Lord and for willingness to surrender control of his life to Him. Pray for comfort and strength for Liz and her husband Jonathan and their family during this time.
Prayers answered!
- Praise the Lord for not only restoring the teen that we have been praying for from TCM who was missing a few months ago, but for also providing him with a home now with a pastor and his family. Please continue to pray for him as he readjusts to school and pray for his continued spiritual openness and response to the Gospel. Thank you for your prayers for this young man!
“Through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that He has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in Him.” Ephesians 3:10-12
