Prayer for the City & Church: Mar 28-Apr 3

Prayer for our City:

  • Pray for the youth of our city, as they are on spring break this week.  Pray for their safety and protection as they travel.  Pray for family relationships to grow strong and deepen.  Pray for those looking to use this week as an escape or a place to find their identity in the wrong places – that they would supernaturally encounter God as their Ultimate Fulfillment this week.
  • Pray for the teachers of our city, as they are on spring break this week.  Pray for this to be a week of refreshment and rejuvenation for the effort they put into teaching each week. Pray that they would see their jobs as valuable and would feel appreciated for what they do.
  • Pray especially for Christian teachers and school staff to find wise ways to share about Christ in their workplace and be an example of Christ to their students. Pray for their safety and security while occasionally at personal risk of injury or harm.

Prayer for our Church:

  • Pray for the children of our church – that they would be raised with an understanding of the Gospel from a young age.  Pray for their physical and spiritual development.  Pray that we as a congregation would invest and care for them and support their parents in their upbringing.
  • Pray for the Children’s Ministry – that it would continue to grow and develop at GTC.  Pray for the leaders – for wisdom, creativity, resources and sufficient volunteers to be able to effectively run this ministry and invest in the lives of the next generation of GTC.
  • Pray for the pregnant women and new births of our congregation.  Praise God for Tony and Mary Babu’s new little girl, Michaela.  Pray for her health and for Mary’s quick recovery.  Pray for those who are still expecting to have strength and energy to finish out their pregnancy and for healthy, safe births.

Praise God for answered prayers!

  • Praise the Lord for His protection over Liz James’ father’s brain surgery this past week.  Thank you for all your prayers for him in the past few weeks and thank God for His grace and provision for a safe, complication-free, successful surgery to remove his brain aneurysm.  Pray for a continued recovery for Bill (Liz’s father) and for his continued spiritual openness and interest in the Lord.
  • Praise God for successful spring break camps for both TCM and Squads.  Praise Him that many of the youth indicated a deeper interest in knowing the Lord and that the youth leaders were very encouraged by the deepening maturity and growth in their youth.

Consider taking some time this week to praise God for what He has done in your life, as we are encouraged by Psalm 46 to do:

Come and see the works of the Lord…Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’
