what is the diaconate?

The diaconate at Grace Toronto Church consists of women and men commissioned to serve the church behind the scenes, confidentially helping our congregation during crisis periods of their lives. Following in the footsteps of Jesus, the diaconate exists to offer sympathy and service to the needs of our church.

the function of the diaconate

The diaconate provides financial assistance for rent, food, counseling assistance, utilities, and other expenses. This practical help is made possible by your contributions to the Deacon Fund. This fund is separate from the operating budget of Grace Toronto Church and goes directly to assist members of the congregation who find themselves in need.
