Grace Centre for Urban Missions
purpose
The Grace Centre for Urban Mission exists to train and equip Christians within Toronto to understand and to live out their faith in the city of Toronto by delivering biblical, theological, historical and practical education and training. Topics of discussion within the Grace Centre for Urban Mission include everything from Bible content, theology studies, evangelism training, mercy training and many other discipleship related topics.
We hope our classes and lectures will help Christians within Toronto cultivate a kingdom centred worldview while developing skills needed to grow in fellowship with God, in community with one another and to better serve our city.

What attitude should Christians in Toronto take towards our cities cultural achievements? How are we to negotiate the path between being ‘in,’ but not ‘of’ the world? Should we be involved in politics and other “worldly” affairs or avoid them all together? Should we engage in the “culture wars” or attempt to create a new culture all together? The goal of this course will be to challenge Christians to develop a deeper sense of our own Christian identity by wrestling with the thorny issues related to Christianity and culture.

Our city’s culture has no space for fundamentalism, especially Christian fundamentalists. We are a culture that enjoys living in our diversity of convictions and hate to be told of absolutes. This has made evangelism a stressful and intimidating task for many Christians. Evangelism for “Normal” People is a two-part seminar for people who feel intimidated or do not feel the need to participate in evangelism. Together we will examine evangelism as found in the Biblical narrative as well as the possible practical responsibilities.
